Alderson's 2nd Annual Walk to School Event

Mayor Luther Lewallen and Alderson Elementary School Principal Barbara Bowling invite all Alderson citizens to participate in the town's second annual walk to school event at 7:30 AM on Wednesday, October 7, 2009. The Alderson Women's Club will serve juice and muffins as people gather at the Methodist Church on North Monroe Street. The Mayor and Principal will lead the "parade" of students, parents, grandparents, friends, infants in strollers and dogs on leashes in the walk to the school, escorted by Alderson Emergency Services personnel. This is International Walk to School Day. Over 150 walked to school last year and we hope to have an even bigger turnout this year.
