The Alderson 4th of July
Committee is proud to present the first-ever Alderson Jingle Bell
Fun Fest! This event is a fundraiser for the festival which faced an
extreme hardship due to the remnants of the derecho storm that
cancelled the annual July festival. The funds raised at this event
will go toward building back the treasury to allow a fantastic 2013
festival. The committee would like to thank Alderson Medical Center
for their help in sponsoring this event!
The Jingle Bell Fun Fest is on Saturday, December 15, from 8:00 am
to 4:00 pm and will be held at the Alderson Community Center. The
Jingle Bell Fun Fest will be the first of its kind in the Greenbrier
Valley with a schedule of events that has something for everyone! In
addition to the great events listed below, you will find:
Vendors and Crafters
Pictures with Santa
Concessions
Games/Prizes
Letters to Santa and Crafts for Children
Announcements of winners for the races and raffle
And more things to be added!
Kicking off the holiday fun will be a special treat for young and
old with a “Breakfast with Santa” from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. The
breakfast will include pancakes, sausage, a holiday treat for the
children, and beverages. Breakfast is pay-at-the-door and $5 a
plate. Santa will be arriving from the North Pole just in time for
this special breakfast! Photo opportunities will be available.
Beginning at 12:00 pm, racers will be on their mark for the
Children’s Santa Chase! Our “special guest” will lead off this fun
run and walk for ages 10 and under. This event will be a fun,
non-competitive course starting at the community center and going
around the elementary school and back up. Each child will receive a
goody bag. Prizes will be awarded for Overall Best Holiday Costume,
Best Santa Look-a-Like, Frosty’s Choice, the Reindeer Way and more!
The cost is $10 per child to participate with discounts for multiple
children. There will have safety personnel along the course however;
children must be accompanied by an adult for safety.
Get your bells on! The Greenbrier Valley’s first-ever Jingle Bell
Fun Run and Walk will step off at 1:00 pm on December 15, at the
Alderson Community Center. This Jingle Bell Fun Run and Walk is a
fun and festive way to kick off the holiday season and help a
community in need. This event is a 2 Mile Fun Run and Walk through
Alderson. There is a $15 entry fee per person or $25 per couple.

on the day of the event (all participants must be registered by
12:30pm). Prizes will be awarded in various fun and unique
categories such as: Best Costumes, Most Bells, the Scrooge, Most
Holiday Spirit, and more! Every participant will receive a gift.
Keep in mind this is not a timed event however, there will be an
official timer for those interested in knowing their time. Prizes
will be announced at 2:00 in the community center. We encourage
participants to wear a holiday themed costume. Tie jingle bells to
your shoelaces. Run or walk the two mile route with a team or by
yourself and celebrate the season by giving.
All aboard! Come one, Come all to see the “Polar Express” movie and
bring all of your friends and family. The Polar Express Movie
Presentation will begin at 2:30pm in the gym of the Alderson
Community Center. Wear your pajamas, bring blankets and pillows and
get comfortable for this special treat. Popcorn and snacks will be
available. $2 admission for children. Children must be accompanied
by an adult.

2 chairs is $10 and limited booths available with electricity for
$15. All booths are on a first come, first serve basis.
Pre-Registration and payment is required. Booths will fill up fast.
The Alderson 4th of July Celebration is West Virginia’s Largest 4th
of July Celebration. The festival was also named West Virginia’s
Best 4th of July Fireworks Presentation by WV Living Magazine. For
