seeks
a
creative,
motivated,
and
passionate
market
manager
to
manage
the
Alderson
Community
Market
for
the
2019
season.
Resumes

Please include three references, two from former employers. Employment to begin immediately.
Time Commitment:
~ 8 hours/week total from April 30, 2019 thru November 5, 2019 broken down as follows:
o Roughly three hours/week planning and preparing for the market
o Roughly five hours/week at the market every Tuesday: 3pm-6pm Market, plus set-up and break-down.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Manage each market.
The ACM manager will be present at the weekly market, coordinating and engaging vendors and
customers, while gathering detailed sales and market
participation data. Manager will compile this data
and share it with the ACM Task Force weekly. Manager will also be responsible for set up and break
down on-site, as well as for putting up and taking down area signage on each market day.
2. Coordinate market outreach, SNAP sales, and voucher programs
.
The ACM manager will engage/educate customers and community members about the SNAP program,
WIC farmers market vouchers, and Senior Vouchers program available at the market.
3. Help link other ACFH programs and other community organizations to the market
The ACM manager will work with the ACM Task Force to engage participants in the ACFH, and help
connect the Community Garden, Alderson Elementary School Farmers Club, and other community
organizations to the market.
4. Food and farm demos at market
The ACM manager will recruit and oversee various food or farm demonstrations for market.
5. Develop relevant market publicity
The ACM manager will work with the ACM Task Force and community volunteers to develop appropriate
publicity and outreach materials for market programs serving the greater Alderson community.
6. Other Duties and Job Requirements
The
ACM
manager
will
also:
be
able
to
collect,
organize,
and
manipulate
digital
market
data
be/come
knowledgeable
of
food,
farm,
health,
and
food
regulations
be
able
to
design
and
write
basic
marketing
and
advertising
materials
be
customer
service
oriented,
and
able
to
develop
a
rapport
with
both
vendors
and
consumers.
