ALDERSON ARTISANS OPEN MINI-GALLERY
The
Alderson
Artisans
Gallery,
one
quarter
into
their
second
year
of
operation,
was
rudely
interrupted
by
the
flooding
in
June.
However,
Gallery
Manager
Jo
Perez
said,
“Artists
are
like
the
phoenix
and
we
will
rise
again.”
Quick
action
the
night
of
the
flood
enabled
them
to
save
all
of
their
inventory
and
they
plan
to
return
to their gallery space as soon as repairs are finished.
Meanwhile,
Alderson
Main
Street
offered
them
space
in
the
Visitors
Center
so
they
could
begin
selling
art
work
again.
On
Thursday,
September
1,
they
held
an
open
house
for
the
artists,
local
citizens,
and
all
those
who
appreciate
art.
They
plan
to
be
open
in
the
Visitors
Center
from
11-4
on
Thursdays
and
Fridays
and from 8:30 to 2 on Saturdays.
The
art
ranges
from
photos
to
paintings
to
jewelry
and
much,
much
more.
All
artists
are
juried
into
the
Gallery and their products are top quality.
Perez
said,
“We
are
grateful
to
Alderson
Main
Street
for
the
loan
of
the
space
but
this
is
only
temporary.
We will be back in our own space soon!
