For Alderson from Doug Crawford
The storms came in,
To the Mountaineer State!
Skies darkened, rain fell —
People panicked, but too late.
The river swelled,
It consumed the town.
But Alderson's spirit,
Would not stay down!
No time to mourn,
Twasn't this town's death
The good folks huddled,
And drew a breath.
Brooms and shovels,
Strong backs to the fight!
Nothing stops West Virginians,
When these great people unite!
