Historical
Society

dedicated

community
enrichment
through
education
and
preservation
of
the
history
and
culture
of
the
Greenbrier
Valley.

Greenbrier
Historical
Society

"Lord Dunmore's War: Last Indian Conflict of the Colonial Era” by Dr. Glenn F. Williams

Historical
Society
on
the
historic
site
where
troops
gathered
for
an
author
talk
about
Lord
Dunmore’s
War
at
the
Montwell
Commons
Barn
(the
site
of
Camp
Union).
The
Greenbrier
Historical
Society
will
be
hosting
Glenn
F.
Williams
a
retired
Army
Officer
and
Senior
Historian
at
the
U.S.
Army
Center
of
Military
History,
Fort
McNair.
He
will
present
a
talk
about
his
latest
book
Lord
Dunmore’s
War:
The
Last
Conflict
of
America’s
Colonial
Era.
He
will
describe
the
causes
and
conduct
of
the
last
Indian
War
before
the
start
of
the
Revolutionary
War
and
discuss
the
role
of
Camp
Union
as
the
point
of
rendezvous,
with
over
1,000
militia
gathering
around
the
Lewis
Spring
area
in
late
summer
of
1774.
The
talk
will
be
held
September
21,
2019
at
7:00
PM
at
the
Montwell
Commons
Barn
located
at
970
N.
Jefferson
St.
Lewisburg,
WV
24901
(behind
Hill
and
Holler
Restaurant).
Parking
is
available
at
Montwell
Commons
or
on
Randolph
Street
behind
the
Barracks.
No
admission
for
this
event,
but
