LEWISBURG — Fred B. Neely Jr., 92, of Lewisburg, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at the Springfield Center in Lindside, W.Va.

Born Dec. 18, 1921, at Alderson, W.Va., he was the son of the late Fred B. Sr. and Hagelton Baber Neely. He was graduate of Alderson High School, Class of 1942.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Karl Neely; a granddaughter, Tracey A. Neely; a brother, Robert Neely, and sisters, Frances Hibbert and Louise Lightner.

He was a member of the Clifton Presbyterian Church in Maxwelton serving as an elder and deacon. He was owner of Neelys Plumbing, Heating and Sheet Metal.

Mr. Neely was a member of Greenbrier Barber Shop Quartet and a member of the Maxwelton Ruritan Club.

Survivors include a son, Walter (Gloria) Neely of Lewisburg; a daughter, Wanda Ward of Arlington, Va.; a sister, Virginia Warren of Lewisburg; and a granddaughter, Patricia L. Hager of Christiansburg, Va.

A private graveside service will be held Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Janice Johnson and Rev. Cam Harkness officiating. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at the Clifton Presbyterian Church at Maxwelton.
