Herman King of Glouchester,
Virginia died January 21, 2015, of Congestive Heart Failure in a
Glouchester Nursing Home. Mr. King was 85 Years old.
He was the son of Robert King and
Eva Walkup King of Wolf Creek Mountain near Alderson. He is survived
by several cousins and nieces and nephews.
He had a career in broadcasting
starting with WRON in Ronceverte and ending in the Tidewater area of
Virginia as a highly respected Radio Commentator. He was a brilliant
man with a keen intellect and a sharp wit.
A member of the Class of 1949 of AHS, he was a respected and loved
member of that group, He returned often for the Homecoming
Festivities of the Fourth of July Celebration in Alderson. He was
often the guest of Jim and Betty (Pitzer) Johnson at those times.
