Juanita Alice Garrett Davis, age
82, of Alderson, W.Va., passed away
on Monday, July 2, 2018 at
Greenbrier Valley Medical Center,
Fairlea, W.Va., following a long
illness.
Born September 25, 1935 in Glen Ray,
W.Va., she was the daughter of the
late Lonnie and Juanita Catherine
Grimmett. In addition to her
parents, she was preceded in death
by her first husband, Elbert B.
Garrett; her second husband, Charles
Lee Davis; a daughter, Donna
Catherine Garrett; a step-son,
Donnie Davis; two brothers, Arthur
Grimmett and Bill Grimmett; and four
sisters, Olleata Thomas, Virginia
Craft, Geneva Via, and June Erskine.
Mrs. Davis was a homemaker and also
worked various jobs in the
Greenbrier Valley throughout her
lifetime. She attended Alderson High
School and was of the Baptist faith.
For many years, she was a member,
volunteer, and activist for MADD,
Mothers Against Drunk Driving. Mrs.
Davis loved to cook and bake and
also enjoyed playing bingo and doing
cross word puzzles.
Survivors include three
children, Tanya Nicole Masters of Alderson,
W.Va., Rebecca June Garrett and her husband,
Brian Ward, of Alderson, W.Va., and Patrick M.
Garrett and his wife, Tracey, of Staunton, Va.;
two step-children, Dennis Davis and Missie
Mitchell of Alderson, W.Va.; five grandchildren,
Owen Bert Crowe, Mary Ann Pilson, Jamie Lee
Crowe, Angela Catherine Martin, and Patrick “P.J.”
Garrett, Jr.; five great grandchildren; and many
nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 6,
2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the River of Life Church of
God in Alderson, W.Va. with Pastor Anthony
Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the
Fletcher Addition of the Alderson Cemetery,
Alderson, W.Va. Friends may call Friday, July 6,
2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the River of
Life Church of God, Alderson, W.Va.
Serving as pallbearers will be Owen Crowe, Jamie
Crowe, Patrick “P.J.” Garrett, Jr., Brian Ward,
Allen Martin, and Ricky Vandall.
