Annabel Gilbert, age 83, of Lee
Wyatt Road in Spruce Pine, died
Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Blue
Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce
Pine following a short illness. Mrs.
Gilbert was of the Baptist faith.
She was a graduate of Alderson High
School in Alderson, WV, Class of
1954.; Cabell County and St.
Mary’s Nursing School in Huntington,
WV.
During her working years, she worked
with the F.B.I. in Washington, D.C.
and Detroit, MI for ten years and in
the nursing field for twenty-seven
years. She; along with her husband,
Ray owned and operated the Ponderosa
Lodge near Rainelle, WV.

She was preceded in death by her
parents, Clarence and Louise Hill
McCraw. She was also preceded in
death by her husband, Ray Gilbert.
Left to cherish her memories are her
son; Bryan Marshall Gilbert and
wife, Gale of Spruce Pine; her
grandchildren; Matthew Ray Gilbert,
Joni Johnson (Brandon), Niki Kinman
(James), and Alex Stockton (Katie);
her daughter; Cynthia Louise McDade;
granddaughters; Kristen and Brigit;
and seven great grandchildren and
numerous special friends and close
family friends.
The family respectfully requests the

on Monday, August 12, 2019 at 7:00
pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral
Home with Randy Bonner officiating.
A time to support the family, share
memories and receive friends will be
on Monday, August 12, 2019 from 5:00
pm until 7:00 pm in the funeral home
chapel.
A special ‘Thanks’ to all of those
who brought food, spent time with
the family and helped any way they
could. Special ‘Thanks’ to the staff
of Blue Ridge Regional Hospital for
their care of Annabel.
