Margaret Evelyn Hardesty, 80, of Canadian, passed away on August 13, 2019 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Margaret was born on October 19, 1938 in Alderson, West Virginia to Bruce and Catherine (Sydenstricker) Friel. She graduated from Alderson High School in 1956. Margaret attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, where she received her Bachelor's Degree and also her Master's Degree in 1988.

On July 21, 1997, Margaret married John "Jack" Calvin Hardesty. They were happily married for twenty-two years. She worked for Canadian Public Schools for over twenty years, before retiring from there. Survivors include: her husband, Jack Hardesty, of the home; son, James Bruce Meredith; daughters: Cathy Bush and Missy Meredith; and granddaughters: Leanne Martin and Emily Spears; and soon to be great grandson.
