Alderson-Charles A. “38” Hiser, 78, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea.

He was born Apr. 20, 1937, in Greenbrier County, the son of the late Wheeler V. Hiser and the late Nellie E. Honaker Riser Smith.

“38” was of the Protestant faith and was a roofer in home construction.

Charles was preceded in death other than his parents by a brother, Calvin M. Hiser and step-father, Max Smith.

Surviving are: his daughter, Lisa Hiser Bowe of Belle; two grandchildren; sister, Janice Butler and husband John H. of Alderson; and brother, Robert J. Hiser and wife Genevieve of Verona, VA.

A memorial graveside service will be held Sunday, Nov. 8, at 2 p.m. at the Clayton Cemetery with Randy Burdette officiating.

It was the request of Mr. Hiser to be cremated.
