Ruth Burdette Olive was born in
Wolfcreek, West Virginia on August 2, 1929. She passed away
Tuesday September 8, 2021, at the age of 92 years in Texas
City, Texas.
Ruth was a longtime resident of Texas City, Texas and a
member of First Baptist Church. She married Jess H. Olive,
Jr. on August 3, 1954. She was an active member of FBC in
Texas City, where she served singing in the choir for many
years, taught 4th grade Sunday School Class and various
activities. She loved to play the piano and she would play
for her Sunday school class and at Elmcroft of the Mainland
Nursing Home.
Ruth was a graduate of
Alderson High School, Class of 1949.
She was a teacher aid at FBC
Kindergarten for 30 plus years. When she came home from
West Virginia to Texas she worked as a lab technician a
Monsanto for a couple of years.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Jess H. Olive,
Jr.
Ruth is survived by her son, Tim Olive and wife Karen of
Texas City, Texas, and daughter Kay Olive of Plano,
Texas; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
