Mrs. Lewis was a retired bookkeeper
having retired from Greenbrier Valley National Bank in
Alderson, W.Va. after 25 plus years of service. She was
a 1948 graduate of Nuttall High School, Lookout, W.Va.,
where she loved to sing and was a member of the All
State Choir. Mrs. Lewis attended the Johnson Memorial
United Methodist Church in Alderson and was a member of
the Alderson Chapter No. 119 Order of the Eastern Star.
She enjoyed painting and loved to write short stories
and poetry. Mrs. Lewis loved to spend time with her
family, especially her sister Nancy. Where you saw one,
you always saw the other.
Survivors include four children, Craig Lewis and his
wife, Brenda Lewis, of Alderson, W.Va., Dinah Lewis King
and her husband, Elvis "Buddy" King of Dallas, Ga., Mark
Lewis and his wife, Carolyn Lewis, of Forest Hill,
W.Va., and Lisa Lewis Stacy and her husband, William
"Bill" Stacy of White Sulphur Springs, W.Va.; one
brother, Keith Shawver of Morganton, N.C.; one sister,
Nancy Shawver of Fairlea, W.Va.; three granddaughters,
Jennifer King Welton, Sarah Stacy, and Jennifer Stacy
Taylor; three grandsons, Jason King, Adam Lewis, and
Luke Stacy; 10 great- grandchildren; special friend and
caregiver, Becky Navarro of Narrows, Va.; and several
nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside services and burial will be on Thursday,
December 30, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Alderson Cemetery
in Alderson, W.Va. with the Rev. Sam Groves officiating.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CDC guidelines will be
observed, with mask and social distancing encouraged.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
