Alex McLauglin comments:
“I
went
to
school
with
Julius,
graduated
with
him
and
played
ball
with
him.
Julius
would
walk
out
of
a
hollow
near
Asbury
around
3
miles
to
catch
the
school
bus.
As
I
recall
the
school
bus
ran
before
football
practice
was
over
and
Julius
would
somehow
get
to
and
from
the
pre
season
practices
in
August
when
the buses did not run.
When
we
played
football
it
was
before
weight
rooms
so
it
was
hard
to
measure
who
was
the
strongest
player.
Julius
who
was
generally
pretty
laid
back
but
would
get
very
enthused
before
the
game.
He
called
me
red
brick.
He
would
come
up
to
me
and
say
“let’s
get
fired
Up
Redbrick
“
he
would
then
pound
me
on
the
shoulder
pads.
I
have
never
been
hit
so
hard
in
my
life.
I
would
guess
he
must
have
been
the
strongest
player
along
with
Kenny
Baker
on
our
team
.
Julius
was
a
very
good
player
who
started
on
the
offensive
and
defensive
line
for
the
1960
undefeated
regular
season
and
state
runner
up
Alderson
high
team football team.
Julius
moved
to
the
Baltimore
area
and
worked
for
Bethlehem
steel
company.
Julius
said
he
knew
nothing about being an electrician. But it paid good money so he became an electrician.
Julius was a great man, friend and football player. Rest In Peace Julius Eary.”
