of
Alderson,
W.Va.,
passed
away
on
Thursday,
March
7, 2024 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, W.Va., following a long illness.
Born
October
16,
1958
at
Blue
Sulphur
Springs,
W.Va.,
he
was
the
son
of
the
late
Charles
Ross
and
Gladys
Marie
Hiser
Sims.
In
addition
to
his
parents,
he
was
preceded
in
death
by
his
stepfather,
Chester
Lee
Hiser;
an
infant
son,
Joshua
Paul
Sims;
a
brother,
Larry
Lee
Sims;
and
two
sisters,
Betty
Jane
Sims
and
Rebecca
Darlene Sims Hiser.
Mr.
Sims
attended
Alderson
Schools
and
was
a
retired
farmer.
He
loved
working
with
horses,
enjoyed
hunting,
and
loved
his
dogs.
He
also
enjoyed
working
on
old
cars
and
trucks
and
watching
western
movies.
Mr.
Sims
was
a
hard
worker
who
loved
to
joke
and
kid
around
with
people,
but
above
all,
he
loved
and
cherished
his
family.
He
will
always
be
remembered for his selflessness, kindness, and willingness to help others.
Survivors
include
his
loving
wife
of
37
years,
Betty
Ruth
Burns
Sims
of
Alderson;
two
sons,
Matthew
Wayne
Burns
and
his
fiancée,
Virginia
Elizabeth
Moore,
of
Alderson,
and
Adam
Cory
Sims
of
Alderson;
two
brothers,
Charles
Robert
"Bobby"
Sims
of
Fort
Spring,
W.Va.,
and
George
Garland
Sims
and
his
companion,
Nancy
Smith,
of
Alderson;
two
sisters,
Audrey
Marie
Hall
of
Ronceverte,
W.Va.,
and
Mary
Lou
Sims
and
her
companion,
Gary
Bragg,
of
Alderson;
many
nieces
and
nephews;
and
his
favorite
companions, "Blackey" and "Molly".
Funeral
services
will
be
Wednesday,
March
13,
2024
at
2:00
p.m.
at
the
Lobban
Funeral
Home
Chapel
in
Alderson
with
Pastor
Anthony
Carter
officiating.
Burial
will
follow
at
the
Fletcher
Addition
of
the
Alderson
Cemetery
in
Alderson.
Friends

Tuesday,

12,
2024
from
6:00
p.m.
to
8:00
p.m.
at
the
Lobban Funeral Home in Alderson.
