he
was
the
son
of
the
late
Ernest
Perry and Madeline Bonnie Burns McCallister.
He
was
preceded
in
death
by
his
wife
of
45
years,
Ardis
Anderson
McCallister,
grandson
David
Smith,
five
brothers,
Kenneth
McCallister,
Bob
McCallister,
Perry
McCallister,
Keith
McCallister,
Lael
McCallister,
three
sisters,
Elaine
Allen,
Kayle
Harvey,
Patricia
Moore,
brothers-in-law
Bill
Allen,
Gerald
“Jake”
Harvey
and
sisters-
in-law Peggy McCallister, Jeanne McCallister and Kay McCallister.
Mr.
McCallister
was
one
of
12
children
and
grew
up
in
Asbury,
West
Virginia
and
attended
Alderson
High
School
and
graduated
in
1957.
After
graduation
he
moved
to
California
and
began
his
career
as
a
carpenter
and
married
Ardis
Anderson
on
November
10,
1961.
They
lived
in
Livermore,
California
up
until
his retirement from the Carpenters Union after 30 years and moved to Redding, California.
During
his
retirement
years,
he
enjoyed
bass
and
salmon
fishing
and
gardening.
He
and
Ardis
loved
to
travel and enjoyed trips to Reno, the Southwest, and Alaska and Mississippi River cruises.

of
Redding,

Garry
McCallister
and
his
wife
Frances
of

brother-in-law

and
