Chesapeake - Katherine "Kitty" Sheffer, 87, passed away,
Sunday, April 16, 2017, surrounded by family. She was born
to the late Howard and Beulah Rigg in Alderson, WV. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Donald Sheffer; daughter,
Donna Sheffer; two brothers, Jimmy and H.M. Rigg; her
favorite aunt, Lura Rigsby; and favorite cousin, Betty
Preedy.
She is survived by a son, Howard Sheffer and his wife Gail
of Chesapeake; adopted grandson and granddaughter, Brian and
Sara Ogle; two adopted great-grandchildren, Jordan and
Jagger; best friend, Phoebe Allison; and many cousins,
family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 1 P.M. Friday, April 21,
at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive
friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel
on Thursday from 7 to 8 P.M.
