Does anyone remember "cranes
and crows"? That was the cry of Howard McVey in the white building
up the road from the mansion on the mountains where the Boy scouts
met and Mr. Howard McVey was our scout master. Was that great, great
fun or what? Howard would yell "cranes" and the cranes would come
after the crows, the crows would flee back across the line and then
Howard would yell "crows" and the crows would peruse the cranes.
Howard, also took us on many wonderful camping trips, and we had
some great times on those excursions. Howard, was a great scout
master, and we all really liked Jean who was the scout masters wife.
Growing up in Alderson was one exciting experience. |
