DELEGATE AMBLER HELPS TOWN OF ALDERSONDelegate George “Boogie” Ambler presented a Governor’s Community Participation Grant award to the Town of Alderson at the regular Council meeting on May 12, 2016. When other emergency repairs had to be made on the Muddy Creek Mountain water tank, it was discovered that the roof of the tank was ready to collapse. While the town had set aside money for repairs in a special fund, these would cost more than was available. The town reached out to its state legislators for emergency help. Delegate Ambler responded with this grant. Mayor Travis Copenhaver said, “Words cannot express our thanks to Boogie. He is always there when we call and goes above and beyond to help any time he can.” Delegate Ambler said, “That is what you elected me for--to listen and act when I can. Alderson is very special to me and I am glad to be able to help this time.” Funds were also received from a West Virginia Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council grant.
