NEWS RELEASE - June 13, 2018
Fema Mitigation And Flood Repair Update:
The
first
phase
of
repairs
are
complete.
We
will
be
paving
the
last
section
of
Maple
Avenue
East
that
was
torn
up
in
the
next
phase
of
the
project.
The
area
not
being
paved
is
area
that
is
likely
to
be
torn
up
in
the
next phase of the project.
Our
team
met
and
began
working
on
the
design
phase
of
the
next
round
last
week.
We
figure,
based
on
the
time
to
get
the
concrete
drop
inlets
delivered,
pipe
delivered,
and
the
design
completed
will
take
about
3-4
weeks.
There
will
still
be
some
torn
up
streets
for
the
4th
of
July,
but
the
real
tearing
up
will
begin
on
July 9th.
We
will
be
working
in
the
Elmwood,
Linden,
and
Maple
Avenue
and
Lee,
Chase,
and
Virginia
Street
as
well
as
Riverview
drive
at
those
streets
that
intersect
it
when
the
project
resumes
7/9.
We
are
focusing
on
this area due to the recess of school and hope to have the work completed before school resumes.
There
are
also
two
major
hydrant
repairs
to
be
done
in
this
area
that
will
require
Water
to
be
shut
off
during
the
repairs.
We
will
notify
customers
accordingly
on
those
days
and
do
our
best
to
get
the
work
done as quickly as possible to not inconvenience you more.
You
may
have
seen
new
pink
dots
on
the
West
end
of
town
over
the
past
few
days.
The
Triad
surveyors
are
here
and
working
on
the
third
phase
of
the
surveys
so
we
can
keep
moving
into
that
phase
once
phase three is complete.
Sorry
for
the
inconvenience,
but
in
order
to
fix
the
unseen
infrastructure
correctly,
it
takes
getting
to
it
to
fix
it.
Remember
we
used
robotic
cameras
immediately
after
the
flood
to
see
what
our
subsurface
damages
were
after
the
flood.
Now,
between
mitigation
of
future
issues
and
repairs
of
these,
we
must
go
to
the
areas the cameras found damages.
