Town Maintenance Crew For   those   who   criticize   and   talk   about   how   “town   guys   just   ride   around   all   the   time”   today   Steve   contacted me   at   3:00   to   say   we   had   a   major   problem   at   the   water   plant   Sewer   lift   station.   Oddly   enough   a   hole developed   in   a   place   we   had   repaired   after   the   flood   that   would   be   close   to   where   those   lines   would   run   to the main trunk line from that lift station a couple of days ago. Bob   Rhodes,   Steven   R   Trent,   myself,   Zack   and   Rick   Burns   dropped   plans   on   Sunday   to   keep   peoples toilets   from   backing   up.   Bypass   pumping   the   lift   station   to   the   next   manhole.   These   guys   are   dedicated   to their jobs and the town they serve. Way more than they get credit for. Part   of   this   work   involved   pulling   a   pump   and   dealing   with   the   nastiest   of   nasty   sewage   in   hot   muggy weather. I will post a video of the effects of non-flushable wipes soon. As   a   result   we   dug   at   the   area   of   the   hole   to   find   the   problem,   a   dropped   line.   Now   to   await   miss   utility   to come   mark   the   area   so   it   can   be   dug   further   to   fix   the   problem   that   runs   close   to   the   high   voltage   buried lines to the water pumps at the river. Dangerous   work,   nasty,   work,   and   hard   work!   I   appreciate   everyone   on   my   team   in   Alderson.   They continuously go above and beyond to help us all. Four and a half hours later, we all get to go home.
