Blood on the Flag
There is blood on the flag that we hold so dear,
Placed there by so many that have fought and
died,
It has flown over our country for many a year,
To show the world that we will honor it with
pride.
People now say that the flag should not fly,
Even a President had it removed,
But we will no longer stand by,
And see this symbol of Freedom abused.
Patriots fought and died for our flag,
In our Revolution when our country was born,
Americans bled and fought and died,
In our great Civil War when our country was
torn.
Through two great World Wars our flag has flown,
Showing our resolve to the world,
To right the wrongs that others created in the
war zone,
Through it all the Stars and Stripes was
unfurled.
Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan,
Have all seen our son’s and daughter’s
bloodshed,
Under the banner of the Red, White and Blue we
can,
Say we have paid our dues where our soldiers
have tread.
Now some of our own citizens call for the flag
to be torn down,
But I say that this SHALL NOT BE SO!
As long as there is an American like me around,
Because we follow in the Founding Fathers
shadow.
