Alderson Memorial BridgeThe old concrete bridge is probably the most photographed structure in Alderson. Relegated to foot traffic in 1977 when a new bridge was built downstream at the lower end of the city, it was later stated to destruction because of it’s deteriorated condition. The citizens of Alderson took charge and with many meetings with the city, it was derided to seek ways to renovate the old bridge. Fortunately it was and today stand as a credit as to what can be done for such a treasured landmark.Alderson Main Street was one of many who were involved in the renovation, along with many other organizations.
