Alderson’s Friday For The Arts
The
Town
of
Alderson
and
Alderson
Main
Street
are
pleased
to
announce
that
the
second
Friday
of
each
month,
May
through
October,
has
been
designated
as
Alderson’s
Friday
for
the
Arts.
These
events
will
take
place
in
the
center
of
Alderson
with
arts
and
crafts
vendors
on
the
Alderson
Memorial
Bridge
and
artists
available
to
meet
the
public
and
discuss
their
art
at
three
locations:
Alderson
Artisan’s
Gallery,
Fruits of Labor Café, and Alderson’s Store.
Held
from
6-9
p.m.
rain
or
shine,
these
events
are
designed
to
showcase
local
artists
of
many
genres
while
providing
family-friendly
activities
for
people
in
and
around
Alderson.
Music
will
be
available
at
the
gazebo
in
Alumni
Park.
Don
Sutherland,
AMS
Secretary
and
one
of
the
organizers,
said,
“We
are
looking
for
family-friendly
music,
especially
American
Roots
Music
of
old
country,
bluegrass,
newgrass,
blues,
and
gospel. Performers will not be paid but may set out a tip jar.”
AMS
President
Doris
Kasley
said,
“We
are
excited
about
these
new
arts
and
entertainment
events
in
Alderson.

vendors,
and
musicians

and to be scheduled.”
Visitors can enjoy local restaurants or bring their own food and drink (except alcohol).
The
Alderson
Artisan’s
Gallery
has
provided
an
outlet
for
local
artists
during
the
pandemic
through
their
on-line
store
and
some
limited
open
hours.
These
events
are
a
special
opportunity
to
meet
the
artists
whose work people may have seen and about which they may be curious.
