McCallister,
age
53,
of
Alderson,
passed
away
peacefully
with
her
family
by
her
side
on
Tuesday,
June
11,
2024,
at
the
Ohio
Health
Riverside
Methodist
Hospital
and
Emergency
Department
in
Columbus,
Ohio.
She
was
born
February
10,
1971,
a
daughter
to
Carol
Sue
(Arbaugh)
Holt
of
Alderson
and
the
late Richard Christopher McCallister.
Melanie
was
a
homemaker
and
attended
Alderson
Schools
and
Greenbrier
East
High
School
and
was
of
the
Christian
faith.
She
loved
her
children
and
family
with
her
whole
heart.
She
will
be
remembered
as
a
selfless,
loving
person
who
always
thought
of
everyone
before
herself.
Melanie
also
enjoyed
spending
time
with
her
grandchildren
and
loving
them
endlessly,
and
being
very
giving,
supportive,
and
patient
beyond
loving.
Her
favorite
things
included
listening
to
music
and
watching
TV
shows.
Melanie
will
be
remembered
for
her
love
of
making
crafts,
decorating,
painting, traveling, and taking road trips. She will be deeply missed.
She
is
survived
by
her
daughter,
Gabrielle
Letisha
Andrews
of
Bluefield,
her
son,
Anthony
Tielor
Andrews,
of
Lewisburg,
her
granddaughters,
Kyrionna
Renee
Carrington
of
Bluefield,
Jayceiona
Declan
Marie
James
of
Roanoke,
VA,
and
her
grandson,
Arris
Michael
B.
Crump
of
Bluefield;
her
mother,
Carol
Sue
Holt
and
her
Husband
David
of
Alderson,
her
brothers,
Perry
Owen
McCallister
of
Alderson,
and
Jarrett
Wayne
McCallister of Alderson; her niece, Jourdan Micha McCallister of Alderson, and several loving cousins.
In
addition
to
her
father,
she
was
preceded
in
death
by
her
maternal
grandparents
Faye
Phillips
and
Owen
Arbaugh,
her
paternal
grandparents,
Richard
and
Bessie
McCallister,
her
aunt,
Joyce
Bostic,
her
uncle,
John Bostic, and cousin, Jeff Bostic.
In keeping with her wishes, Melanie will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
